If I already downloaded and started the free Android version will I have to start over if I get the hi res Android version?

You won't have to, thankfully! Saves will carry over automatically. If you'd like to back up manually, you can find your saves in: "ahitr_storage".
They'll look sometime like "1-1-LT1".
