This game has nothing to say that other games haven't said before but better, and definitely doesn't live up to the hype. It presents its subject matter and then says nothing meaningful about it, nor does it explore it in any meaningful way, instead choosing to use it for cheap shock value and forced emotional moments. Not an offensively bad game but nowhere near what other people say it is. Definitely a beginner game, and there's nothing wrong with that, but also definitely NOT worth the praise it gets.

I don't think you understood the game well enough. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I think that you ran into the game with your own EXTREMELY high expectations.
You decided to compare this game to others that may or may not be directly related.
You then wanted to point out that the game isn't deserving because it didn't meet YOUR expectations while just about everybody else says otherwise.
I don't think you understood my comment well enough. Yes. I came into this game with high expectations, because everyone was praising this game like it's some deep, high art, with this super sad and mortifying, scarring and life-changing story, and not a humble little itch.io indie game made by one person with an okay at best story. I understood the game plenty - there isn't much TO understand, it's a very barebones story about a homicide case. I just think that this game does not live up to what everyone says it is (there are seriously comments on here saying it's their "game of the year" which is frankly absurd), which was the entire point of my comment.
