For the past 6-8 months, this new version of the game has been in development. The page for the Ren'Py version of the game is still there for the people who prefer a more linear Visual Novel style game. This is essentially a complete remake of the entire game, with way more features, more content and faster updates in the future.

But you abandoned the other project even though it was made to look like it was the "real thing" moving forward. Doesn't the release of this project constitute a breach of trust? Who's to say you wouldn't abandon the newer project few months down the line and move on to a new release in a new engine? Also why not let people know "Hey, this game is not going to get updated, don't purchase it right now and maybe wait for the new one." If you've been working on the new project for 6-8 months. Wouldn't you call this shady behaviour and a warning for what's to come if it was done by another developer?

Don't get me wrong, though. The new project is pretty cool, but this isn't what you advertised initially. And the lack of accountability to those that already paid for the other version while this was being developed leaves a very sour taste in your fanbase's mouths.
