Honestly, the developer without integrity like this shouldn't be sponsored even if they do update. Giving money to such scammers is an insult to everyone who works hard to make a living.
Don't forget, v0.25 was originally part of v0.24, and they initially said the delay would only be three weeks, but now it's been five months.
Every sponsorship is fueling the scammer's arrogance. Once it's updated, just wait for it to be made public. If really can't wait... you know.
Spare money can be used for charity or to honor one's parents, but it should never be used to sponsor scammers.
