I had a question, but I think I found the answer in this paragraph: Why Miss murdered Ellie? If Miss said that she were cleaning the world from very corrupted people and is obsessed with Ellie's innocence, and also support Ellie all time. Ellie trusted Miss even after she saw the truth. And even after that she didn't behave with a person who had just killed someone else and could kill her. (yes, it shows she is stupid too). She tried to convince Miss that her murders weren't right. And even thought that she was going to open the door when she was going for kill her. By morals view of Miss, Ellie is less corrupted then herself. And Ellie could do nothing against Miss, she knew nothing about her, she is only a weak kind. They have a kind of sapphics relationship (that is the reason why the game have a tag "LGBT", I think). It seems that Miss is like a big sister to Ellie. And she didn't feel something similar to the previous employee, compare "an eye for an eye … my heart for a neck" "she took my eye and you took my heart. Yes, I noticed "For people who don't even give me a second glance unless I'm giving them all I have?". Seems she is really searching a partner that is more than co-worker. But phrases "What will happen next time? Can I keep going like this?" and "I can only keep going on. Perhaps it's time to find someone new, just one last time." show that she went completely mad and can easy kill not only corrupted people, but also employees or even more. She continue hire new employee.

What will happen in other timelines? If select the last options. Will Miss kill Ellie after or during the cleaning? They have a similar phrase "I wouldn't ever push you to do anything you don't want to do". In rejection timeline she murdered her after that, but in undecided timeline she said "Not even in a different timeline, had you said something else." And she can notice that she will no more work together.. Maybe she know too much to control Ellie.

I find in the comment that Ellie is also horrendously hypocritical, but don't understand where? If it's only about "No one should go through this. Except you.", I think a lot of people can think similar when dying. I don't write much about Ellie: She is stupid, naive, fearful and lies to herself. And also too much love money.
Interesting, that even store clerk said "Ah, were you part of the drug…".

Thank you. The game is really good. I prefer the best ending when Ellie pass the job. I only registered to write the comment. :)

OH MY GOD THANK YOU!!!! as the writer i was waiting for the day someone would try to dissect my 4 am yap lines HAHA. yes ellie is stupid. she is so so naive and i tried to make both characters super hypocritical (the game is supposed to make you think about your own hypocrisy regarding world issues)!! yes they are basically sapphic hehehe and like the lines you noticed (THANK YOU FOR NOTICING THEM i've been dropping hints and revealing it in the comments) she is used to not being so close to coworkers (to answer your question on why miss kills ellie, it's bc she thinks of ellie as a "failed experiment" and is used to just disposing of them like that), but she felt some sort of attraction/pull towards ellie so she's really depressed about it.

miss's hypocrisy is knowing she's not really doing anything for the world but doing all this anyways (she even hurts innocent ppl like ellie) + the timeline thing you noticed :). ellie's hypocrisy is still the "No one should go through this. Except you." line bc she is super adamant that no one deserves to die even with that dead guy committing so much harm (arguably way worse than what miss's killing), yet she doesn't apply it to herself when she's at the other end of the knife. of course it's normal for people to think like that -- it's so normal for people to speak like they're heroes then turn around and act in a way that shows they're not. this was an allude to "pro-life" supporters who get abortions (or don't support policies that would support peoples' lives after birth) or anti-lgbt politicians who lead an lgbt life under the table (have you seen the sharp rise in grindr usage during republican conventions? it's rly funny).

and LMAOOO is the best ending really just the speedrun ending?? 😭 it could be argued that it's not though bc ellie would've kept living in naivety

also i wrote an essay abt mimco (cited it as an indie game... my prof doesn't know i wrote it 🤭) and this comment reminded me of that HAHA
