A year and a half late to the party and damn I missed out as much as Baxter HAHAHA.
I wasn't expecting anything when I bought Baxter's DLC. I bought it along with Derek's + Cove's wedding (ald have Cove's expansion) for a super long trip that had near to zilch access to Wi-Fi. I thought I'd just run through the Derek and Baxter's DLC (I didn't mind Baxter but I liked Cove more at first), then move onto Cove's Wedding DLC.
Lo and behold, 50 hours in and intent on digging out every piece of dialogue that Mr Monochrome has to offer. I barely touched Cove's Wedding DLC yet without seeing Baxter and thinking 'yep nevermind, I should replay w a diff OC and see what else is there'.
I'm so sorry Cove. I love fluff as much as any other person but I devour anything with slowburn, angst and mutual pining..and I can get all three with one of the route that can be taken is *chef's kiss*.

I'll forever be surprised by how detailed the game is. Calling out Baxter for his 'sophisticated' texting style at the start has him calling the MC out near the end. How Baxter has the hots for people who volunteer (lolll) and I especially appreciated the parallelism of the interactive play and the 'drama' that ensued between MC and Baxter.
All in all, Baxter is a complex character that I enjoyed throughly unravelling and understanding through many playthroughs.
On a side note, there are also some coincidences in the MC 'setting' I chose, much like how fate made MC & Baxter meet again, in the first playthrough that made me fall in love all the more. MC's name is Rhodes, named after the isle of roses, a flower as universally loved as I intended to be (cuz I was gonna basically do all epilogues in one shot haha). Then Baxter made the comment how he wanted to be someone important, but not the most important one, to someone who was important to others.
And that was a startling fit. I don't think I can use the OC Rhodes for anyone but Baxter anymore haha.
For anyone reading this, thanks for reading me rambling. Hope you have a nice year ahead. Happy new year!
