The game was abandoned. The developer was showing clear signs of abandoning this game. They were heavily pushing their Twitch channel and streaming instead of working on the game. Then, the developer even said they were going to make another game, which was supposed to be a prologue to Evermore. This was the main reason they stopped developing Evermore. When that flopped, they started heavily pushing the supporters of Evermore to another dead project that involved Dungeons and Dragons. I don't understand why the developer went this route since they were quite well-off from all the supporters they had on Patreon. I guess they just wanted out of the grind and took another job opportunity instead.
Clearly, the developer had regrets, and instead of closing their Patreon and leaving (like the developer of Lust Age did when they took an indefinite break), they kept it open, essentially stealing money from unknowing supporters of Evermore (which is dead). They now reappear with the promise of continuing the story in a "new medium," likely a book and nothing more. My assumption is that they did this to appease any remaining supporters of this project who actually want to know how the story ends. But considering the developer couldn't even stick to the promise of finishing a prologue that was about 80% done, I highly doubt they'll stick to their word and finish this story at all in any "medium."
