I can play through it again if I'm missing something, but if it's a bug you might want to fix it.
I also noticed that I got the achievement for beating the game in six minutes without beating the game because (I think) I launched the prototype.
Once I went down the laundry chute, Leif showed up in the kitchen. All good! I did beat the game in under six minutes to earn the achievement. I never managed to beat the mother shadow without getting hit, but otherwise I think I did pretty good!
