There are no plans for a Linux version due to the game engine. No idea about Linux compatibility tools since I'm not really familiar with Linux..

I think the simplest solution for you would be to get the game tested with the UMU-Launcher. It is essentially proton (a compatibility layer for Windows applications to run on Linux provided by Valve), usable outside of steam.

In theory, once a version of a game has been tested to work with a specific version of proton, that should apply for most Linux devices through that compatibility layer.
