You’re playing from the perspective of a pedophile the whole time!
It’s essentially a deconstruction of the whole dress-up game genre, by questioning why exactly is the player in a young girl’s room, dressing her up in suspiciously scandalous clothes.
The whole plot came to be when I was trying to explore the horrors of girlhood and honestly, a lot of the common themes are unfortunately: sexual assault, bullying, feminine rage etc. So, I wanted to use this medium as an excuse to add that horror edge while being grounded in reality!
The man in closet/window is essentially a metaphor for YOU creeping into her life when Sera’s at her most vulnerable and isolating her from her friends!
But of course, that is just one interpretation. I am a big fan of speculation and tbh, everyone has differing ideas of who the man is, from a hallucination to a physical manifestation of anxiety etc etc.
I support all theories and therefore, there is no specific canon idea! Hope that helps!
