Yo, you got the beginnings of a really good game here! I really like the pixel art, everything is really clear where to go and what will hurt you. I liked that there were checkpoints. I like the story too! There are some areas that I think could be improved, if you are open to feedback:

  • Horizontal Movement- you move really fast left to right, just barely tapping A and D moves you a lot. This makes platforming hard, and makes landing attacks without getting hit hard, especially since its such a short range attack. I would slow down the horizontal movement speed. Or at least make it ramp up, where it starts slow, and speeds up the longer you hold down A or D.
  • The Jump- you jump really high, and there is only one fixed height. There were times in the game I wished I had the ability to do shorter jumps. If you could base the jump height on how long you hold down SPACE, I think that would help.
  • I personally don't like the attack being on the mouse, when its not an aimed attack. I would rather it be another keyboard key. 
  • There were enemies on platforms that were barely as wide as them. So i had to jump next to them and just hit them once as I fell past them, and repeat until I killed them, and them I could jump on that platform. If you could jump above enemies and do a downwards facing attack, that would be helpful. Or maybe if continuous attacking held you motionless in the air that would be helpful too.
  • Since it a collect-a-thon, I need to know if I collected everything! I collected 112 batteries. I think I got them all? But I don't know for sure, since there is no Total to go with the counter ( ex: 112 / 112).
