i love love love this story but i'm a little bit confused. did rosette ever at one point love medea? i could be misinterpreting but it seemed like rosette was always trying to escape her.

I think her journey was very similar to the one we see in the game, including the long abandonment at the end. The love that she was manipulated into feeling eventually turns to deep longing and then resentment and then anger and then she becomes a witch and eventually she captures Medea and replays the cycle of manipulation that was first inflicted on her from the opposite side. She vaguely says as much in time she talks about what drives women to become a witch in the first place.
I suppose deciding whether this becomes an endless cycle that they continue to perpetrate on each other or if it truly ends here is a exercise left to the reader.
