Hi, sorry for the late reply. Happy you like the game, actually the way I programmed it was very hack-y. We are completely remaking the game (and switched from Unity to Godot) in the process. Right now we have a closed play test version on steam, if you want to try it out, I could send you a key. (Since I can't send stuff on itch.io, you could join or discord and pm me there)
