...speaking of the LUTE, any chance you know where to find it? I'm currently kind of stuck on that part (and by extension the part where I'll need to give it to the bard) for some odd reason :|

The Lute is in the watchtower on south_east of town. ( Go there at midnight to avoid guard)

...going to be honest: I'm stuck there too, as the game won't let me past the gate inside the tower, I.e. I can't figure out how to get the key off the guard even though that's clearly what's supposed to be happening based on what I'm seeing in the dialogue I was seeing there: any advice?

SPOILER

You should get 1 key from the guard (who is sleeping) - you have to steal it from him

2. You open the second gate using the switch on the first ground floor (red one).

3. Last gate - you need to approach the jug on the right, get past the guards and open the chests.

...see it's the sleeping guard that's the problem as no matter how many times I click on him, there doesn't seem to be any indication that I've gotten the key, I.e. I'm not entirely certain what I'm doing wrong here :|

have you a newest version of game? One guy had the same problem as you.
But for 10 000 000 000 000% i fixed that i newest version

don't know what to tell you: I downloaded the 1.1 version recently and yet I can't seem to interact with the sleeping guard at this time, I.e. I'm at just as much of a loss as to what's going on here as you are :|

Honestly i dont know where should start.

First of all, accept my apologize for that bug.

Now. Have you a old save before entered to watchtower?

I checked that and everything should go smooth.

Apology accepted and as to your question, I had already been using an old save when it happened, though admittedly maybe an older save would work better, as I haven't tried yet, I.e. I'll try and sort of thing when I have the time and let you know how things work out on that front.
