My friend and I were just talking about a productivity app where you keep an animal alive by finishing tasks. The rabbit burrow is a lower stakes version of that, which is honestly probably a healthier approach 😆

I’ll be using it today while I work. Looking forward to trying it out!

UPDATE after a day of use - I love this! Very easy to use and the timer is legible. Also, it's nice to see a timer counting up as opposed to my pomodoro timers always counting down.

Some initial thoughts:

  • Down the road, would it be possible to do custom activities?
  • When the timer isn't running and the playdate is sleeping, I think it's still running as my battery had dropped quite a bit from when I turned it off to when I turned it on a few hours later. Again, this is when I had no timers running.
  • I don't see money earned on the report screen. Will you be showing this on the burrow screen when that gets developed?
  • Timer appears to automatically stop and go back to the task selection screen after a certain length of time. Not sure exactly how long. It will go past 60 minutes is all I know.

Hey Ryan, thank you for detailed feedback!

You are right, main thing is not to fall into gamification too much, otherwise it will not be productive anymore  :)

  • Custom activities are not planned so far, trying to keep it simple. I was trying to give activities abstract icons, so you can connect them to what you're doing.
  • That's interesting observation, but in general it should not drain the battery, playdate is not allowing to run apps in background. I'll keep an eye on it.
  • Yes, money will be shown on burrow screen.
  • Correct, limit is 90 mins - made for such cases when you forgot to turn it off, so your stats will not be totally broken. Usually working session should not be more than 45 mins.

I will add burrow screen within upcoming update ;)

Oh, that’s what that chime is around 45 minutes! Good idea including a little break reminder.
Regarding the battery, I did not see drain yesterday, so I think it was just me not paying attention. You can disregard.
