Hi, I have a similar problem, but for me, after playing Eternum, Being a DIK became a breath of fresh air. Both games have had no less effort and love put into them; they are the two best visual novels, and they've raised the bar so high that regular novels can't reach it)
I still can't find anything similar to these two masterpieces.
