It’s like covid warioware the card game! I just.. I love this. ‘Job’s done. Thx bye. No, wait…!’
One thing i’d add: make the deck 10 cards bigger so that you can have the cards stay on field between games.
Game 1: goal: reveal cards
Game 2: goal: cover cards
Game 3: goal: un-cover and un-reveal cards
(Bonus: This “shell” created in game 2 looks visually and works literally like covid’s capsid.)
Another thing: for the first game, don’t deal out the cards. Instead,
- drop them face-up from 2 feet above the table.
- Have everyone slap their hands down on a pile they want.
- Everyone slides their hands away at the same time and uses whatever cards come with as their hand for that game.
Oh and, when you build the game, i’d release the rules with a slideshow pdf file layout included. Here’s an example: https://neithernora.itch.io/endsville That way, you can load up the pdf, fullscreen it, and flip through the slides while discussing the game with the group.
And i hadn’t heard of Hanabi before your note. I love (and have) Lanterns, so a cooperative version of that using only a handful of its cards sounds like a nice night. And, based on the rest of your entry i’ll def give Love Letter a look.
Nice entry.
