Hi! In order to get research points (which are used to unlocked genres, marketing and choreography), you need to hire a music producer, a manager and a choreographer, respectively. Then, all you have to do is build them their respective rooms (recording studio, office and dance room) and let them do their research. Keep in mind that they'll only get you research points if they're not engaged in other activities, like training an idol, looking for contract opportunities or working on a single.
