Try rightclicking on the .zip, and try to open it with a program other than Archive Utility (which is the default on Mac.) I use the Unarchiver and this solves the problem most of the time.
I tried using the unarchiver, and now the game is quitting immediately. Doesn't go full screen or anything.
Hm, seems mine did that as well.
Maybe some sort of update type thing
