Interesting project, I'll give this a shot later today and probably will write some feedback here.
Alright, i'm back from playing the game! First of all: I think the screenshots actually undersell the game quite a bit. I found the art to make a lot more sense and be a lot more pleasant to look at when I was actually playing the game.
I quite liked the tutorial, and even though the UI was a bit rough around the edges, it got the job done. The dialogue did not overstay it's welcome luckily enough. I really feared for a second that I was going to have to read long dialogue before playing the game but it was nicely mixed in with tutorial messaging. Shooting or attacking an enemy was a bit awkward on a laptop as I was asked to both press the right mouse and left mouse button at the same time. This is a bit of accessability problem that I would like to see resolved, especially since all that I am doing is basically selecting a target.
I had a short instance in my first playthrough where the NPC's seemed to get stuck and did not move anywhere, the message on the top right was stuck on "Waiting for enemies to move". Aside from that I would like to see some sort of introduction to the characters, maybe at the start of gameplay, a short camera sequence that shows the characters, it's weapon and maybe attack range / damage. Does character range actually differe between characters with melee and ranged weapons?
Overall, this feels like a pretty solid short game experience, and while I spent most of my time writing about issues, I definitely had a fun game experience. I think the story could shine through better with some more story buildup, but I liked the overall concept. Performance was also great, so that made me happy.
