I've decided to try using a standard format for all my feedback this time around. Please excuse me if I come across as overly curt or miss something important about your game. I'm writing these all quite hastily as there are a lot of games in the jam this year!
What I liked
The gameplay concept is really interesting. I've seen similar ideas a few times before but it felt new and fresh here.
The graphics are delightfully goodbad.
What I didn't like
I had to stop playing because I started getting dizzy. That's on me, I have problems with that sometimes.
It didn't seem to have any sound at all.
Did I think it was so bad it was good?
I don't know, maybe. I think the concept has the right mix of good and bad, but the game as submitted really feels more like an unfinished prototype than anything and doesn't quite have that magic to it.
My thoughts on the modifier implementation
Not sure if it's winnable. Too queasy to find out.
Other remarks
The entire source folder, including the Library folder, seems to have been included in the build.
My first jam entry ever was CyberShield, which was a GZDoom based tower defense shooter thing. I remember it was a very small jam, and I remember totally missing the theme.
Verdict
A neat little prototype but I'm still on the fence whether it's so bad it's good or not. Not a bad first jam entry, though, and submitting anything is an accomplishment you should be proud of.
If you have any questions, comments, queries or concerns, please reply and I'll do my best to get back to you.
