I've decided to try using a standard format for all my feedback this time around. Please excuse me if I come across as overly curt or miss something important about your game. I'm writing these all quite hastily as there are a lot of games in the jam this year!

What I liked

It's twisted, I like trying twisted games, even ones I find disturbing.

I'm not sure if I'd call the visual style and graphics good or bad but they were hilarious. Same goes for the music.

The gameplay is actually a lot of fun. Simple but with the effects and graphics it's satisfying to play.

What I didn't like

It wasn't immediately clear that hitting some things was bad, and the fails/misses system seems unnecessary versus a simple x strikes and you're out.

Really could use a leaderboard/high score table.

Difficulty ramp is a bit slow.

Did I think it was so bad it was good?

Not really. It's clear an attempt was made to push it into that nebulous category but it still feels at its core like a good game with a bit of crappiness added around the edges to make it worse. Looking through my notes, most of the "flaws" I've noticed were really nitpicky things.

My thoughts on the modifier implementation

I'm not sure if it was implemented. It's impossible to win but the goal is to get the highest score so...

Can you clarify your intent here?

Verdict

I really like this game but I don't feel it's so bad it's good. It feels more like a good game with some issues to be worked out than a glorious SBIG trainwreck.

If you have any questions, comments, queries or concerns, please reply and I'll do my best to get back to you.

Thanks for giving my game a detailed look! I agree on everything you wrote down here, I let some friends play it after it was "done" and they also told me it wasn't clear what not to hit and that it could definitely use a leaderboard.

As for the modifier, I took a bit of a shortcut there and used the impossible part in the title, as in "A perfect game? That's impossible!". Yeah, not great. I was quite time constrained unfortunately so I had to cut a lot of corners and that was one of the biggest ones.

Thanks again for giving my game a try and for your feedback. I really appreciate the time and energy you put into those to help fellow gamedevs.

Cheers!
