I'm new to playing these types of games from itch.io, especially those that are being updated here and there so sorry if this is a stupid question but, when an update for the game comes out, will we need to uninstall and then reinstall the files for the game to get access to the new content?

you dont install this but rather download the current version, unzip the compressed file an launch the program.
once a new version is out you do the same thing, download the newest current version, unzip the compressed file an play

And I want to add that you just have to copy paste the save file from the older version at the same place into the new version to get access to your saves.

You dont need to do that, the saves are in other place then the game. You just delete de older version and open the new one and all yout saves are there

Yeah, that's true it's saved somewhere else too. Just the habit of doing that, in the case of x)
