First 5 star I gave on 'Fun'

Kinda wished there was a titlescreen. I also wished I could stop shooting but I began to understand and respect the decision. It was fun moving around and there were times I wished I could move faster and times I wished I could move slower so overrall it seemed like a really good pace for gameplay.

You didn't put too much descriptions on what stuff was but you didn't really need to because you used classic videogame tropes and things were really clear. I didn't know what those white 6ish things on the were.

The part I had the most fun was when I just decided I was a pro at your game and started playing really recklessly and let adrenaline take over and that was a great decision because I had a ton of fun doing that lmao.

Good choice on music also bc it matches the pace of fast segments and raises tension when things die down.

Very curious on how u did the specks on the floor. I couldn't notice a pattern and Im wondering how U did it.

Overall, well done.

Hey, thanks for the really great feedback!

We also wished there was a title screen :( We had some really great art and a cool little back story we were going to put into a small cutscene before you got to play but unfortunately we ran out of time! I'm really glad you felt that way about the movement, we wanted it to be a bit unmanagable in order to fit with the theme, but not so much that it wasn't fun to play.

Again, we wanted to put item descriptions in game but ran out of time (48 hours is hard!). The white square items are different powerups that changes the rules of the game quite significantly. We put descriptions of these on the main itch page for the game, but the jam submission page doesnt let you be anywhere near as detailed :(. I suck at playing this recklessly and my best results usually come from picking off enemies one by one and using the walls to slow down the movement haha. It's great to hear that you had fun playing in a different way! One of the powerups was 'Vampire - Become invincible. Health drains slowly over time. Kill enemies to reset the timer and keep yourself alive'. We put this in specifically for players that wanted to play like you!

Regarding the floor,  when the room is created there is an invisible object that randomly walks around the blank room for a set time. We used a DS grid to record each tile this object had been to as "floor".  We had 4/5 different speck patterns and then just assigned each "floor" tile one of these patterns at random. Hopefully that makes sense! If you'd like to learn more the basis for the code was Heartbeast's video on random level generation. Check it out on Youtube!

Thanks again for taking the time to play and rating :)

And I agree 48 hours is tough lmao I pressed submit w 15 seconds to spare :((

But np man I can tell you put a lot of heart into ur game
