Concept seems ok, just need to be more evolved (probably because of the jam time limit). Maybe more random stuff and better feedback to the player of what's happening will help. Also, try a smaller map and bigger assets. The pattern on the background seems unnecessary and gives a bit too much noise to the visuals.
