This game is pretty decent, I really like the cute art and also like the overall concept of it, tho I have few improvement ideas:
I would suggest you to change the health bar to just like health points. So when you get hit by something you lose one point and respawn to the nearest checkpoint. At the current state when you fall on spikes you will just get boosted up and probably take even more damage. Maybe it is what you intended to do, because it does give you the feeling that your loosing control. But just wanted to say that.
Then pls add hold space higher jump, would be much more fun.
But overall really nice game.
