Hi Rob! Thank you for your feedback. Yes, you're right about the lack of variations. We had a lot of other ideas but we had to choose between polish the game a bit or trying to implement new things at the last minute. For this jam we decided to polish the game but we'd like to implement those ideas after the jam.
