Okay, so I like the artwork and how everything controls.
However, this game is rather frustrating to play, and it could be easily fixed by just a few small tweaks.
I think you've got a lot of good feedback in the comments already, so I won't go into too much detail, but to sum it up:
- That first pit in stage 2 needs an escape route to appear after you've defeated the zombies. Resetting the game feels awful after apparently overcoming a trap.
- The invisible zombie spawners block bullets and make everything way more frustrating than necessary. As it stands, you have to memorize their locations to beat the game.
- There needs to be a very short animation that plays when a zombie is spawning in, to give the player time to react. Zombies were frequently spawning directly on top of me and giving me no chance to move out of the way. Again, this makes the player memorize zombie spawns.
Overall, I like the style of this game, but it's just too frustrating to make any progress in.
