I read them, it was really enjoyable and I will probably use few of them. I feel like some are so dark and evil, especially with the way they recharge, they seem more a central point to a story.

Yes, a few of them are more intended as something to build an adventure around rather than just something you find in random loot. Possess for example is a very fun spell for a villain to have!
