The game is overall really well made, cool, and does have potential to be something even greater. I really like the concept of running out of tape and having to rewind (while being able to kill your enemies when in a pinch). There was a bit of emergent gameplay which was fun.

Keeping in mind that you only had a week to make this game, I would like to offer some improvements that I think can make the game flow better and be more exciting if you continued development on it.

- I really like the loss of tape mechanic, but I genuinely think it can be more fun if you put more emphasis on how important it is to prevent yourself from wasting too much tape. For example, I found the game a bit satisfying but easy when I was able to constantly rewind myself and kill the enemies in my rewind path. I feel the experience of rewinding would be more special and rewarding when you had to save the rewind for the perfect moment rather than constantly being able to use it and devalue the power it possesses.

I was able to build a strategy around using the rewind. For example I was able to shoot at enemies while rewinding. I even wrapped the tape around an area and sat in the center of that area while shooting. Only when I was overran would I rewind killing all the enemies around me which I found pretty fun.

- Each level was refreshing with the different music, visuals, enemies, amount of enemies, and different powers you could use. However, the similar maps got a bit tiresome but I think that's because level 1 and 2 felt really similar in difficulty. Some levels felt really slow though. I wanted to retry some levels but just couldn't bring myself to it since each level felt sooo long to complete with no indication of how far I am into the level. At one point (I think in level 3), after I killed a wave of enemies, it took a good 10-15 seconds for another wave to appear.

- The initial level is alright and lets you get a hang of the game which is completely fine. However, when I beat the first level, the game took awhile to show me the end game screen as the music was getting more and more quiet. I just think the game needs to be quicker to show you that you beat a level rather than leaving you hanging there to move around for a good 7-10 seconds.

- I do think level 4 is really cool and that it gives you a fast shooting gun and you have to fight off a ton of enemies while using the strategies I thought of. I felt cool.

Overall I think the game is pretty cool, I just think the tape mechanic can be worked more on and emphasized more. I also think the flow of the game just needs to be a little bit faster. Good job!

Edit: The music was groovy.

Wow this review is awesome! Thanks so much for spending the time to write it all out. All of your points are valid, and similar to what you mentioned, I wanted the rewind mechanic to feel powerful and satisfying. This outright prevented it from being useless or pointless. I almost set it up as having the gun be a supplemental source of damage to rewinding. I like that you found certain strategies, and I cant wait to make some adjustments based on player feedback after the jam is over. The pacing of everything for example need some work. Thanks again!
