One minute its fairly chilled, the next I have 15 enemies come out of nowhere!

I REALLY struggled with doing anything after the 'did you get the joke yet' area,  it felt like the game was playing me at that point as I was mobbed with enemies and the map was too visually similar for me to catch my bearings and form an exit strategy. I felt like I was the puppet on a string and the game wasn't designed for me to be triumphant but to struggle til my last drop of hp (which I think was the intention).

That pistol needs some serious rework, the recoil is too big and it goes down rather than up, that was quite jarring and make it really hard to use, hard gun or lots of enemies, pick one not both lol

The rewind wasn't that helpful with the amount of enemies as I'd try to create some distance, have more enemies spawn on me, rewind, have the original mobs I was trying to escape proceed to show me the business end.

Cool little game with fun 2.5d graphics, just a little too manic for me compared to the types of games I usually play.

Thank you for your detailed review, I appreciate it more than 100 nice game or nice graphics comments. I wanted to make the game have a "your stuck in limbo" feel to it while not making it obvious. The walls are designed to mock the player's character for his actions that let him to this point in the game. So you don't win the game , you just have to survive as long as you can and repeat. This is a game genre I like called "endless runners".

We had some bugs last minutes with the pistol recoil and had to do a quick fix before submitting that's why its not perfect. Rewind mechanics also definitely need some more polishing to help the player survive for longer.

Thank You! for trying Hell Gates me and my team appreciate it <3

Yeah I understand what you were going for and you definitely achieved what you set out for, I just think the enemies need to either take less damage to kill or spawn less rapidly, at least at the very beginning as it went from 0-100mph really fast and my fire rate just wasn't quick enough to deal with it.

I will make a note of that , we certainly didn't have too much time as some team members started being afk and I had to cut corners on the wave management system to fill in for their work. Towards the end of the deadline i bumped up the pick up boxes spawns by quite a bit to compensate for the monster spawn rate but i see that wasn't enough.

I did notice that a lot of them spawned but it only happened for me in a confined area so once enemies blocked that way off it left me running for my life hoping to find some and getting lost lol
