I managed to reproduce it twice. I climbed up the wall in that area, killed the enemy, then when i fell back down in drone form it happened.
Also is there a powerup that lets you shoot while in drone form? I am not sure if I'm missing a powerup or missing a technique to get past this part. I looked thru what I believe to be the entire grass area and didn't find anything
