Freezing bug aside, this game has a lot of potential! I always like a fresh take on the traditional snake game, and this is no exception. It has come a long way since I played it earlier last week, so props for that! I would add some more SFX to the game and try to improve the tutorial to be more integrated to take it further (e.g. what do the purple hearts do? what is the benefit of cycling the tail?)
