Could be an Gnome rendering related issue. Have you tried other distributions with Gnome Desktop Environment? Or have you tried another Desktop Environment?

The thing is... everything worked just fine before I reinstalled the same version of Ubuntu to have a clean system again.
I've since then reinstalled it multiple times but the issue is still there.
But to actually answer you question: no, I have not tried any other desktop environment or other distributions yet.
Reason being - I want it to be as standard as possible which I assume is what 90% of users use and therefore making testing as good as possible.
