Personally, think you should reduce the flashy effects of the skill as it makes the ball harder to track, or perhaps add a second of slow motion after using the skills in order to help the player keep track of the ball.
Also some addition from me, you do not need to impose this, adding an ability to dodge/immune from damage/bullets, because player sometimes have the trouble of choosing between letting the ball fall into the zone or getting hit by enemy bullet. Then to balance that you can add more enemies shooting bullets.
