Honestly, there are a lot of issues I have with balance, and some UI gripes, and some arbitrary item usage type issues, but holy cow man this is definitely in the top ten games this jam. The atmosphere is on point, the 2D lighting systems is utilized fairly adequately, the gun feels juicy, and enemy design is cute and creepy at the same time and I’m not even sure how that works. This is a jam game that could easily become a full released game.

My Gripes:

  • why does the flashlight turn off when you reload? why?
  • Took me five minutes to realize I had to press E again to close the buy menu
  • There is really no intuitive way to dodge enemy fire from the long skinny spitters (if there is a dodge mechanic I’m sorry I’m just dumb in that case)
  • Level design is interesting but leaves a lot to be desired in terms of direction. There were times when navigating and figuring out the correct route was tedious at best.
