You need to time your input to the beat - pressing W with the right timing should make you kill the enemy. (The timing is visualized by the square closing in on the player - when it changes color, you can press W or D to attack or deflect).
The attack button was bind to Z because I have an azerty keyboard, and I don't know how it changes the input.
