Well, study art exaustivelly the best trick I could give... but playing with framerate on different moments at the animation made an enormous difference on the result!
There's a lot o books around there teaching about pixel art principles in general. Mishafar's Pixel Logic is a great book to study (From begginer to advanced levels).
