Thank you very much for the suggestions!
1. "How did you like using Twine"?
I liked it just fine. Was pretty easy and quick to use, and I could easily focus on writing the story and the choices, rather than figuring out the tool.
2. "The writing is really good but would benefit from proofing and editing. Since the written story is your main asset you want it to be top-notch"
Agreed! Of course! There is always room for improvement!
Though, I do not know if you've encountered any copy-writing or copy-editing issues as of yet, but if you could point them out, I'm more than happy to look over them.
3. "I’ve always found the old school “printing text a character at a time” effect a little tiresome. I’m not the fastest reader I know but I often find myself waiting for the computer to finish printing."
This was tricky, since most people who tested out the game absolutely loved the effect, going so far to say that it added to the experience. But others were not so keen on it. So, in the end, I decided to have the effect in most places, while at other points, just display the entire wall of text at once.
4. "I would suggest either speed it up or turn it off. I don’t think it adds much to the vibe."
That's a wonderful idea! Maybe next time, I can provide the player an option to enable/disable the effect.
Just to note: I followed the official Twine Harlowe tutorial for adding the 'Typewriter effect'. There is a line in the accompanying JavaScript code snippet, where you can adjust the speed from the default 20ms to something else. I tried my best to change it, but for someone reason, it was not being updated. So, I left it at that, since I did not want to spend more time on the code and focus more on the story ( I only had a few days, other than my day job :P ).
5. "Can’t wait to play it through."
Can't wait to get your feedback! I hope you like it!
Enjoy!
:)
