It felt like I wasn't always hitting the enemy when I thought I should be, but it wasn't horribly off, just a little off making it feel odd. Still a lot of fun and I could see it becoming even better with further polish

Timing, hitbox and range. My guess is on the player timing since you hurt enemies at the very begining of the animation, I tried to make the attack animation faster to not have this odd impression but it might not be enough. I was afraid that by adding delay on the player attack to match the animation it would make the game feel slow... but I think I should try ^^
