ok i'm gonna be selfish and introduce myself for newer jammers
1. Hi there! What's your name? Want to introduce yourself?
hey friends! my name is j (yeah, like the letter. no, it doesn't stand for anything). i'm a baby technical artist.
2. Did you participate in the last jam we held? If so, what do you plan on doing better this time? If not, what's your reason for joining?
sadly i don't really have the time to work on a game this round because i'm producing an independent game project in addition to hosting this jam! (and working fulltime at a game studio...!) i would love to work on more personal game stuff maybe after this project i'm currently on.
3. What games are your favorites? Did any of them inspire you, or made you want to make your own?
my favorite games include: kentucky route zero, we know the devil, hyper light drifter, fire emblem series, dishonored, prey, and a bunch more i'm not remembering off the top of my head. krz inspired my senior thesis that i want to return to sometime!
4. Do you have experience with game development? What did you do/with what engine?
i have experience with some 2D, 3D, unreal engine 4, node based shaders, and a liiiittle bit of shader languages.
5. Tell us about something you're passionate about!
i'm passionate about making game development more inclusive + accessible! i've already yelled a lot about it but i think it is really important for people to see dev as something that can be done as a hobby. i also want to see games tell a broader range of stories.
7. Any advice to new jammers (if you're a veteran)?
you will scope down! and that's ok. two keys to project management for me are being honest and forgiving myself.
