Neat.
was just linked this game, what powers do you plan on being available, and would any of them show up in cutscenes? i.e Vampires don't need to breathe, and i saw a post mentioning swimming, and many vampires have powerful regeneration abilities, so having those be mentioned in cutscenes, or utilized outright, might be interesting.

  1. Vampires do not have to breath: Kalyskah does not get tired from running and she also doesn't need to catch her breath while swimming.
  2. Healing: You can toggle the "blood buff" by pressing out. This will consume your blood points (the bar at the bottom) while it's active, but when you have it on, Kalyskah will head her health (the bubble at the left side of the screen.
  3. Powers in cutscenes: Kalyskah is able to turn herself into a dark mist and you can see she doing that on cutscenes. She also has enhanced strength and she can take people's hearts with her bare hands!
  4. Other Powers the game already have: Kalyskah can use some sort of telekinesis to push and pull enemies (press or hold Q to do it) and she can also summon bloodhounds after you complete the dungeon level.

There are other powers we have planned, lot's of blood magic going on!
We read A LOT of vampire novels and we are putting an extra effort to make Kalyskah feel like she is a classic vampire. She can't get inside houses uninvited, she takes damage from the sunlight if she's not properly fed. If she is fed, her eyes are blue (or the colour the player chooses) but when she's thirty, her eyes turn red and her skin turns paler. We'll also make that she will only be able to cross running water after a specific quest.

So well, if you know about vampires, I think you'll appreciate the game as it developes!

Neat!

1. do her Enemies need to breathe? because i kinda like the idea of her using that to her advantage, i.e dragging foes down, or sabotaging diving gear.

2.story wise, with enough blood, does the healing have limits? i.e limbs? I'm imagining her pulling the Deliberate Injury Gambit Trope in order to get somewhere, or to beat a boss that lacks that ability.

3.Nice,  i'm guessing the hearts can be drained for blood?

4. can you pet the bloodhounds?

"She can't get inside houses uninvited,"

What happens if someone rescinds the invitation while she's inside the house? does she pull a True Blood and slide out? or does she just get damaged for as long as she's inside?

1 - They do, but I don't think they go into the water on the current version, and neither have anything programmed to make them take damage there.
2 - Storywise, she can heal anything. Kalyskah is immortal and even if you cut off her head, she'll just reform somewhere like on the last coffin she rested on. We just don't have dismemberment as a mechanic on the game xD
3 - Yep, on the cutscenes that she takes people hearts she actually recovers blood points by drinking from them:

4 - You can't pet them, but that's actually a good idea!

Once someone invites her in, they can't uninvite her. It's too late, if she is there to harm them they are already lost!

On the game, she bounces out of the doors that she's not invited in, but if you want to know about the lore, getting inside houses without an invitation would make she bleed out and feel excruciating pain, like on this movie:
