Overall, well done! I love the way the pirates move in this game - it's a bit complicated, but once you get the hang of it, you can pull some crazy things. I also enjoyed the polish that this game seemed to have.
My suggestions for improving the game aren't too big - I think that it needs to be clear which bombs are falling from the sky, and bombs need to spawn earlier (I felt like I was waiting forever before bombs spawned in the middle levels). Also, the enemy AI. It's easier to get them to kill themselves than to use the bombs.
