An interesting platformer (unfortunately devoid of C&H references) with a nice concept and a good point at the end. That's also left up for interpretation. The levels were definitely pretty hard... tho it felt more like the controls sometimes, than the actual level design. To clarify:
- The movement felt pretty good, though the jumping was a bit weird. Since the character had a little bounce on landing that messed up quite a few jumps. So I'd recommend tweaking or removing that to avoid it impacting jumps too much, though it's not a huge issue once you figure it out.
- Hitboxes were a little weird in the fact that they seemed to fit near exactly to the sprites. Which lead to a lot of weird behaviors with the platforms. Mainly with the sun where the "spikes" on it would get caught on a platform, and you would be sitting there until moving off, while still unable to jump. Because of that it led to a lot of jumps being messed up. So I feel like having more of a straight circular hitbox would help make it easier to tell when you'll collide or not and make collisions simpler to deal with.
- Difficulty curve takes a pretty big jump on the third level. It essentially goes from intro level, jump intro level to oh god there's so many spikes instantly. So I feel like a few slower levels might help, though the rest of the game did have a pretty good difficulty curve itself so that was good.
Besides hoping to see some C&H in future stuff, but for now this was a pretty fun game to play, even solo. Just tweaking the controls a bit and fixing some hitboxes and it'd be even more awesome.
