This is the first time anyone’s mentioned this kind of error, are you on Windows or macOS? You can maybe try hitting alt+tab (cmd+tab for macOS) and make sure you have the game as the in-focus window.
I’m so sorry you’re having trouble playing. I’ll look into seeing what might cause that. The only other thing is making sure you have the current version of the game (in the main menu hold the tab key to see the build number in the lower left corner, it should be 2.0). I’m not sure if you gave a donation but you’re welcome to refund it until the game is in a playable state for you! I’ll try to get a fix out soon!
