the text color makes it hard to read in alot of the scenes
I agree. It would be better to have a text box around it. The white on white is too hard to read. Otherwise, it's a great start.
Go to preferences. Slide the text box opacity to 50%.

No worries. Nearly everyone did. We'll be updating the settings to default it at 50% for the next release.
