In concept the game seems interesting and the idea behind the setting could be cool. The visuals and audio are overall pretty well done and help add to the experience. As for the actual gameplay though.. the controls are... weird. It almost feels like it's trying to be a mobile game sorta control where you click and drag to aim your player etc. but... it doesn't pause anything and continually gives velocity while the mouse is nearby? Which leads to a lot of out of control space worms and leaving the screen. In more detail:
- The concept behind shooting the black hole to ensure you can try and get a higher score is pretty good and I definitely think I could've tried to last awhile. Except...
- In my personal experience the worms turning was incredibly slow if none existent which lead to consistently just barely missing the "food" or "ammo" that I needed. I did eventually sorta get it down by just barely giving some momentum by moving my mouse into range and out very quickly. But it's definitely not responsive. It's a good concept but... I feel like it needs to cancel out the current movement faster.
- When it started moving the worms felt a bit out of my control since it just activated when I was in range. So I'd definitely recommend some sort of extra input to avoid people having to move their mouse back and forth over and over to avoid gaining massive speed.
- On the topic of speed, it seems there's not too much of a cap to the speed of the worms. Or at the very least it is very high. Which personally as I said above, lead to a lot of lost worms to the endless reaches of space. I feel like it's an interesting idea having the insane speed, but locking the worms into the area so they can't escape could definitely help.
- Also some sort of hotkey or button that allows you to teleport the view to each worm would be really nice. A lot of time I was in the game was spent looking for a worm for a specific food type I had found while the black hole grew ever larger.
