The concept seems interesting but I've gotta say the level design really detracted from the game for me. Since the game is pressuring you to go as fast as possible, and the locations of the "coins" are continually trying to get you to slow down. Especially considering how well it was timed out essentially requiring all 7 coins. To be more specific:
- The concept was interesting and definitely got me a bit excited to see the levels I would be going through. Though the timer did sound short when I first heard it and it definitely feels like it.
- As for the timer, it feels very forced. Mostly due to the coin locations as previously mentioned, basically all of them rely on you stopping or almost going back. Sometimes even ignoring a shortcut in a speed run style game, the point is to complete it before you run out of time yet you're essentially stopped from taking any shortcuts.
- The feedback overall, on the first level the game near instantly starts, which makes a little sense there, but is a little annoying since you obviously lose time due to not having a warning. Whereas on other levels you immediately lose if you didn't stop before going through, or at least slow down. Which was a lot of deaths for me.
- Some little things as well, mostly pertaining to the jump. Was the sore absence of any sort of coyote time, and the issues sometimes with being able to jump immediately after landing. There were quite a few times where I would land on the second level for the coin, and then immediately fall off into the void.
Alright, unfortunately I was probably a little more harsh than I meant to be, but the mismatch of the level design and the core idea behind the game really got me. Since they're entirely at odds for most of the game.
Definitely a cool concept tho! Just would've preferred going all in on the speedrun esque game.
