This game is cute, fun, and challenging. My only criticisms are:
- The window resolution didn't play nice with either of my monitors, so I had to make do with a little bit of the bottom of the screen hanging off one monitor.
- The water demons seem a bit unfair; the fire and ice demons have permanent fixtures that can be used an unlimited number of times, but there's nothing that can do the same for the water demons (unless I missed something?)
- It's hard to tell where many of the walls are, so I was frequently running into them and dead ends even as I grew more familiar with the layout
Besides that, this game really hit it out of the park! The dialog is quirky and silly while also providing tutorial information and is free of spelling or grammar issues. The music is appropriately atmospheric and immersive, the sound effects have satisfying impact. The rules are clear. The enemies require strategy and awareness to defeat successfully. And a girl who uses a magical flashlight to entangle and defeat demons is a unique touch that reminds me of Ghostbusters. It all makes for a fun, satisfying game jam game. Well done!
