Pretty cool concept! I think it fits the theme nicely while still being original. I have a few complaints thought.

  • I think it lacks some nice sound feedback! A cool music with some simple sound effects would make the experience much better. Also, the word placement is kinda weird. I want to look at the top to see where the obstacles are coming from, but I need to look at the words!
  • Starting the game was weird, I didnā€™t understand I had to type ā€œstartā€ at the beginning.
  • You should put every words in lower case, I thought I had to match exactly the word but in fact in case insensitive.
  • I was not aware you are able to actually ā€œjumpā€ to the other side by typing the corresponding word, I thought you had to go through each lane first.

Overall itā€™s a cool idea and a good take on the typing genre!

Congrats!

Hey, thanks for your feedback! I definitely agree that the game needs so sounds to really make it satisfying but I ran out of time when making the game. And I changed how I take the letters in right before submitting the game for the last time, and I thought it would fix the problem of the letters only accepting lowercase. I'm not concerned with how to start the game. I feel like it's in character with the game and I really don't want to bother adding mouse controls. Also the spike design is in a way where I hoped the player would try jumping from one side to the other. This way there isn't a wall of tutorial text for a game jam game and it's more of a learn by experimenting thing. I will definitely take your feedback into consideration for when I revise this game.
